"There is to us only one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we by Him." -- 1 Corinthians 8:6.

Religion

God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth is not interested in outward displays of religion. Jesus said,

"God is spirit, and the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." -- John 4:24.

"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment.
The second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the law and the prophets depend on these two commandments." -- Matthew 22:37-40.

"You clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. You fools! Didn't the one who made the outside make the inside as well?" -- Luke 11:39-40.

"So put to death whatever in your nature belongs to the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion, evil desire, and greed which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience."

"Put off all such things as anger, rage, malice, slander, abusive language from your mouth. Do not lie to one another." -- Colossians 3:5, 8.

"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same.
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to ungrateful and evil people. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful." -- Luke 6:32-36.

EXAMPLES OF OUTWARD DISPLAYS OF RELIGION

"You clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. You fools! Didn't the one who made the outside make the inside as well?" -- Luke 11:39-40.

"When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly." -- Matthew 6:5-6.

"When you fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face;  That you appear not unto men to fast, but unto your Father which is in secret: and your Father, which sees in secret, shall reward you openly." -- Matthew 6:16-17.

God's message in the above is clear: The Almighty God and Father of all creation is not interested in mere outward displays of religion. He requires that we worship Him inwardly, in spirit and in truth:

"God is spirit, and the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." -- John 4:24.

The Word of God was clothed in a human body, and the words of Jesus are the words of the Almighty God and Father of all creation, who said,

"You people worship what you do not know. We worship what we know, because salvation is from the Jews. But a time is coming - and now is here - when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such people to be his worshipers. God is spirit, and the people who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." -- John 4:21-24.

The Lord God and Savior of all mankind, Jesus the Messiah, was born of a Jewish woman, into a Jewish family in a Jewish homeland. He is a descendant of God's Jewish king, king David, a descendant of Abraham. His apostles were all Jews.

God's only salvation from the wrath of His everlasting judgment came through the Jews. His name is Jesus, the Messiah.
